Apple and Samsung - Patent?

Apple and Samsung submit a final list of infringed patents ahead of trial 

Samsung might have signed a landmark cross-licensing deal with Google for the next ten years, but it still has to contend with Apple on patent infringement claims. The two organizations drew up a final list of all patents that they allege were infringed upon, with a court trial date set for March 31. The narrowed list of patents were submitted to Judge Lucy Koh following her decision last year which required both organizations to limit the number of patents and products that needed to be scrutinised by a jury.
Florian Mueller of FOSS Patents notes that the changes now meant that both “parties are allowed take five patent claims each to trial. After the September narrowing, they both would have been free to choose one claim per patent, i.e., to maximize the number of different patents-in-suit, which would have been the logical choice for both.” However, Samsung only had four patents left to take to trial, so it decided to assert a second claim on one of the patents.
Apple is accusing a total of ten Samsung products, which include the Admire, Galaxy Nexus, Galaxy Note, Galaxy Note II, Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G, Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy S III, Galaxy Tab 2 10.1, and Stratosphere. Here is a list of the patents that Apple will take to the trial:

1. U.S. Patent No. 5,946,647: claim 9 (“data tapping” patent)
2. U.S. Patent No. 6,847,959: claim 25 (Siri-style unified-search patent)
3. U.S. Patent No. 7,761,414: claim 20 (asynchronous data synchronization)
4. U.S. Patent No. 8,046,721: claim 8 (slide-to-unlock image)
5. U.S. Patent No. 8,074,172: claim 18 (auto-complete)

Samsung, meanwhile, is saying that the iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad mini, iPod touch (fourth-generation), iPod touch (fifth-generation), and MacBook Pro infringe on its patents. Samsung’s claims include:

1. U.S. Patent No. 7,756,087: claim 10 (non-scheduled transmission over enhanced uplink data channel; declaration of standard-essentiality to ETSI in May 2006)
2. U.S. Patent No. 7,551,596: claim 13 (signaling control information of uplink packet data service; declaration of standard-essentiality to ETSI in May 2010)
3. U.S. Patent No. 6,226,449: claim 27 (recording and reproducing digital image and speech)
4. U.S. Patent No. 5,579,239: claims 1 and 15 (remote video transmission system)
