Samsung might equip its future wearable devices with fingerprint sensors

???????????????????????????????????????????????
According to Rick Bergman, CEO of Synaptics, wearable devices with inbuilt fingerprint sensors will hit the market next year. According to him, using a fingerprint ID sensor beneath a small curved display isn’t very challenging. He has also revealed to the press in Taipei that they are working on unveiling an area-type fingerprint scanner in the second half of 2014. Considering Synaptics only provides fingerprint scanners to Samsung, there’s a good chance that the Korean manufacturer will be among the first to implement one in a wearable device.
Samsung has already released the Gear Fit with a curved OLED screen. There are chances of Samsung equipping similar fingerprint sensor in the yet unannounced Galaxy Note 4 as well. Apple’s iPhone 5S was the first smartphone to use an area-based fingerprint scanner. These type of sensors are relatively easier to use when compared to swipe-based fingerprint scanners which are used in the Samsung Galaxy S5, HTC One Max and Motorola Atrix 4G.
